Lisa and I will go for six months on a journey. Although it was more my dream than Lisa’s, we are both very enthusiastic and look forward to our journey together. In the coming weeks, I will post on a regular basis allowing you readers to see what we do
Our plan is to fly to Johannesburg in South Africa on October 9, 2018. We fly BA; they had a good deal. We expect to arrive at 7 am and will than pick up our car. No rental, we bought a Toyota Landcruiser 4.2L V6 Diesel witout turbo. We bought the car second hand from a well know agency (Bushlore) so it is well equipped (we hope). What is not there, we have to buy in South Africa but we know our way there.
The plan is to drive from Johannesburg to Dysselsdorp in the Klein-Karoo to visit Lisa’s family. Thereaftre we drive to Mozambique, then along the coast to Malawi, Tanzania (Mbeya) and northwards to Kilimanjaro. Then we visit the Ngorongoro and Serengeti parks after which Kenya will be on the menu. Possibly we travel then northwards towards Ethiopia (sources of the Nile) after which we will go via Kenya and Uganda to Rwanda. Then via Burundi, Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia back to South Africa where we take the plane in April 2019.
That is, for now, the plan!
To make this all possible, we had to organize a lot, even as we speak. In the next weeks I will inform you about all our experiences; who knows, somebody might be able to use it in the future
