Tamara’s birthday

Peter 6

Tamara celebrated her birthday yesterday with a dinner in restaurant Hosokawa in Amsterdam. It became an emotional evening because we all realized that Lisa and I will be away for six months and that this has a big impact.

Luna, our granddaughter, will learn to walk over the next few months without being spoiled by us. Fortunately she still has two more grandparents!

Tom is, already working, looking for the right school for him while Tamara is preparing to leave the house with all the related things. Farrah and Niels have just become parents of daughter Luna.

And we go away six months!

Without change there is no progress and I strongly believe in that. Yesterday, at the table in Hosakawa, intensive discussions were held between the children how to deal with certain situations and when they will come together again. As parents, and that is Lisa and I are, you notice that your children are very sensible, pragmatic and mature and that you impose parental duties where they are no longer necessary.

Very nice to know that your children will be missing you but also confrontational to know that they don’t actually need you anymore after all these years. Although, if you see Lisa and Tamara…..

    Peter en Lisa,
Wij waren in 2002 vierenhalve maand onderweg op de Donau.
Je zal zien, het vliegt voorbij.
    Blijf je verwonderen!

Peter and Elize wishing you a well deserved and safe passage on your own epic.

I think you’ve captured your emotions and thoughts well on the “eve” of your departure.

There is no progress no growth without change and change in all its different meanings. You have laid sound foundations as parents and trust that your kids will continue their growth in your absence which is necessary and needed.

Most importantly family and friends I sure will accompany you on your journey.

Enjoy the experience as I am sure it will enrich you.

    Love
    Pienaar family
