Jamaka Organic Farm – 23 September

Peter 4

Today it is Thursday, September 23rd and in a week we will fly to the Netherlands if the corona mafia allows it…..

Yesterday was a beautiful day but also a sad one. We drove from Calvinia  to  Vanrhynsdorp  through a changing landscape. The first part was just like the previous days but after about 50 km there were suddenly large farms and the country was clearly, with a lot of effort, cultivated.

Via the Vanrhynsdorp pass we descended into a beautiful landscape and continued the road to Clanwilliam where we went to an ATM and did our shopping. From there we drove via a short, unpaved road to the Jamaka Organic Farm where we are in a beautiful spot on the riverside. Today it will be busier due to a long weekend for the South Africans. Tomorrow is ‘National BraaiDay’. Really….

Tom called us that our 19,5 year cat Snuffel was very sick and that he would go to the vet that night. On the images via Facetime it was clear that the poor animal was not in good shape.

Later that evening, Tom called that the cat had been given a syringe because he was extraordinarily old and that he could not be cured. Today Tom is going to bury him next to our other cat, under the tree and we will be there, via Facetime.

Tomorrow we are going to take the car to the storage with brother-in-law Michael so tonight is the last night.

Unfortunately, my digestion is still upset. The cause probably lies with a salad or some fruits that I ate this weekend.
