Hout Bay – 28 February 2024

Peter 6

Yesterday was the last day of the wedding and it consisted of a lunch in the vineyards of Constantia. A beautiful setting and an excellent lunch where Tamara surprised us all by giving a, short, speech. What an extraordinary person she is!

Tom sat with his partner in crime, Annie as shown in the photos below. Smokers among themselves… Last night he even massaged his grandmother’s legs with dagga oil. Boy, what a ‘bonding’!

Today I’m going to buy a new navigation system because the holder of the old TomTom has died and we really need 1. A new holder is not available here.

I did very well with a navigation system. Unfortunately only maps of Africa but I do solve that problem in the Netherlands. I just didn’t do anything else.

Today is Wednesday, February 28th and I haven’t posted anything for a long time. That had multiple causes. I was and am a bit flu-like or actually quite flu-like. A lot of coughing and bursting headache and it was considerably aggravated by the strong wind that was there in recent days.

In addition, I had (and have) been very pissed off about the behavior of some family members around the wedding. It was better not writing anything…..

Yesterday we had a ‘braai’ in our house with Niels & Farrah, Niels’ parents and Michael and family, in short, an incredibly busy affair but everyone had plenty to eat and drink. Cousin Zea took all the leftovers to eat at work today. She can eat well!

I talked to Tom and Niels about the investments and risks regarding Tamara’s home in Alphen. Because of the clumsy and unprofessional approach of the local housing association, we have to make every effort to continue the project.

Today I’m taking Annie to the ophthalmologist.
