Dysseldorp – 27 January 2024

Peter 6

I write this on the way in the town of Barrydale while we are on our way from Cape Town to Dysseldorp. It’s hot here, hot and blasting hot. The hamburger with fries tastes great here along the road and cost ZAR 90. We still have to drive 200 km and that is fine with 100 km/h.

The battery issue has been resolved. It turned out to be a fuse in a place I had never thought of. At least everything is working now.

We are now with my mother-in-law in Dysseldorp, in the middle of the Klein Karoo. It’s 31 degrees here now (7:00 p.m.) but on the way it was 36 degrees. The wind is blowing here but that gives a lot of dust.

My mother-in-law has converted the place quite a bit here so there is more space in and around the house. She suffers a lot from gout now, but I have pills for that

And she is angry with the donkeys and goats that have eaten her dagga. Now she has to buy it at the rastafaris and I have to get started making oil out of it.

Here I can ‘enjoy’ the open-air theater of the people across the road again. They really make it a spectacle with music, dancing, fights and throwing their own windows when they really drink too much.

Ik probeer me het voor te stellen, een ander land, warmte, zeg maar hitte, de mensen, het geluid, hoe het ruikt, hoe dingen weer veranderd zijn sinds de laatste keer dat je er was…..
    Liefs
