What a very quiet night we had. Although the road runs nearby but there is little traffic here and we are also in a corner of the campsite. The manager brought us a map with a walking route in the area late in the afternoon. Very attentive and friendly but the people in Spain are actually all of them, especially if you stay outside the tourist places. I speak a few words of Spanish and have also had 4 years of Latin at school so I can make myself reasonably understood. Lisa, on the other hand, speaks excellent English, Afrikaans and Dutch but not a word of Spanish. Nevertheless, we have beautiful places on the campsite (her task) and we have not eaten anything wrong yet!
Yesterday we had quite a tiring day with many phone calls from friends and family in addition to a long drive so we slept early.
The walk was nice and quite easy especially the first part. The descent was a bit more difficult with loose stones but then you just slow down! At the highest point of the trip we had a beautiful view and we saw at least 8 birds of prey. What a beautiful sight. Later we saw bee hyves along the road. Then we walked to the village with the intention of eating something there but that didn’t work (or couldn’t, I didn’t quite understand the owner of the restaurant I think). It was only 2 km to the campsite so we had dinner there in the restaurant. There was a daily menu and I could choose from fish or chicken. Now I absolutely don’t like fish so I got bean soup with chicken while Lisa got fish soup with mussels. With wine and water we ate for € 25. Well….
Tomorrow we will continue North and we will end somewhere just south of the Pyrenees.
Gaaf weer
Goede reis
