We now sleep in the village of Allariz, in Galicia near the border with Portugal. Yesterday (Tuesday) we drove about 450 km through a truly beautiful landscape. Of course there were mountains at first whose peaks were still snow covered, but as soon as we passed Oviedo and Gijon the landscape became hilly with huge coniferous forests and deep bays. The highway ran along the coast and was a picture so beautiful. Long and high viaducts followed by short tunnels and vistas. After about 150 km we left the coast and the road rose to the Spanish plateau and the trees disappeared. The weather had become much better so that we could fully enjoy the views. We passed the town of Santiago de Compostela, known for the walking tour and drove into the town of Allariz where we found a simple campsite. Because we had to get some groceries we immediately walked to the village and treated ourselves to a Magnum ice cream. As soon as the sun disappeared it quickly got cold so we sat down in the camper. The night was also quite chilly but as soon as the sun rises it becomes pleasant (16-20 degrees or so).
Today we walked along the river to the village to have a nice meal. You really have to order here in Spanish and that was a long time ago for me but with some thinking and Google you can figure it out. Lisa was very satisfied with her salmon in any case.
Tomorrow we drive to Portugal and look for a campsite near the beach where we can stay for a few days given Easter. Of course, our children called many times about all kinds of problems that were on their minds. The laptop is now being repaired and the steam cleaner has also been found again. The garage appointment is also arranged

Ziet er prachtig uit, Peet! Fijnere temperaturen ook, zeker dan hier!
