It’s been almost a week since I posted something and we are in a hotel at Cape Town Airport where Tamara arrives late tonight. From Citrusdal, we took the N7 towards Cape Town on Thursday with a stopover in Piketberg where Lisa had to have some ointment which was only available there. Fortunately the detour was only 2 km this time. We slept on Thursday in Franschoek at a moderate campsite in an orchard. Very close to the village so we could get our food walking and that is also worth something. At the campsite there was also a not so young Frenchman who did volunteer work nearby. He took a bike to explore Cape Town and ended up in a wrong neighborhood and was stabbed in his arm. Fortunately, several drivers stopped immediately to help him. That’s also South Africa!
The next day we drove 40 km to Stellenbosch where we stayed on a beautiful campsite in the middle of jumping horses. Myriam, you would have loved it! At this campsite there was a Dutch camper and we soon talked to the owners. For 7 years these people travelled the world with their camper and provided in their income by making reports and photo’s on development projects in the broadest sense. Amazing! www.opmeerreports.nl
On Friday afternoon sister in law Lilly joined us and she stayed with us until Sunday. Nice!
Saturday we visited an aunt of Lisa, 89 years old and even smaller than she is. It took 15 seconds before she recognized Lisa and after a minute she knew me too. Of course we also saw the beautiful moon.
Sunday we brought Lilly home and on Monday we drove to Hermanus at the coast of South Africa. Here you can see whales but we saw nothing. Well the weather was good and the surroundings too.
Today we drove along the coast to the airport. On the way we came along Bettiesbaai where my brother-in-law bought a plot to build a house (when Michael???). There has been a big fire and the damage is enormous.
Now in the hotel in Cape Town awaiting Tamara
Veel plezier samen. Familietijd.
Prachtig verhaal, dito foto’s, top ???
