Today is my sister’s birthday. Congratulations Hanneke! Yesterday, after more than five months, we saw Farrah, Niels and Luna and especially the latter had changed tremendously. To compare, see photos below. She is great fun in any case.
Last weekend the whole family came by and stayed of course. The latter did not work without a blow, because we are suffering from power failures. South Africa has an energy company called Eskom who has made an unimaginable mess. There are high debts and the investments are lagging behind and as such there is a shortage of energy. Sometimes Eskom can solve this by buying electricity abroad but after the disaster (tropical storm Idal) in Mozambique that is more difficult. The result is that 2 to 3 times a day Eskom simply turns off the power for a period of 2-3 hours. Complaining to the landlord is pointless because he indicates this is force majeure. Of course this the case but for the price we pay here it would be easy to buy a Tesla battery that could easily cope with this problem. Luckily, AirBnB offers the possibility of writing a review and I’ll do that, right?
Tomorrow, Farrah, Niels, Luna and Tom depart for Dysselsdorp and stay there until Saturday. We go on Saturday to our last house in Hout Bay.

Ten eerste: zegen God/Shiva?Krishna en al die anderen die ons beschermen, dat jullie niet in die verschrikkelijke orkaan en overstroming zijn terechtgekomen.
Een kaarsje (dat kost geen electriciteit) voor alle mensen die zijn omgekomen.
En die Luna, ze ziet er een beetje beduusd uit, moet een beetje acclimatiseren denk ik. En Peter, gefeliciteerd met Hanneke!
Wat een huizen hebben jullie intussen ook tijdelijk bewoond. Volgens mijn bruine vermoeden vonden jullie het tentje bovenop de camper het fijnste huis!
Veel liefs voor allemaal, nog een bijna twee weken en dan vlieg ik oostwaarts, naar mijn roots!
