October 12 update

Peter 11

October 12, what a day it was. We slept well on the roof of our Landcruiser but is was cold, very cold.

Taking down our camp went fast although we had to remove some blankets otherwise the it would not close. So far, so good. Then it started.

Lisa lost her wallet , yes the one with the ATM’s. We looked for over 15 mintues and found it in the plastic bag containing the cheese for the in laws

Withdrawing money was another issue as the bank (ING bank) decided, unilaterally, to restrain her ATM to Europe only. Telling the owner would have been nice. After several call with the bank of which one was terminated because they thought Lisa was fraudulent. Luckily there was a helpful employee who made it all in order for her.

Lessons learned for all. Clients stay with a company not because they sell nice goods but because they help them solving their problems

After 50 km, a warning light appeared on the dashboard stating that the T-belt needed to be replaced. After a quick contact with Bushlore, it appeared that the belt was replaced but the mechanic forgot to reset the warning light. That is how you keep customers ING bank!

We arrived after 170 km with my parents in law and that is where we are now. Lisa is unpacking our suitcases because we need to go from 5 to 3. That will be a challenge because she brought 10 pairs of shoes.

We will stay here for about a week and drive then back to Johannesburg (stop at Bushlore for some minor repairs) and then to Mozambique

So far so good.

    liefs,
