Yesterday it was a wonderfully cool day where the temperature remained below 30 degrees. Crazy that you get used to this so quickly. We didn’t do much other than some groceries and Lisa made lasagna for the whole neighborhood. I have, with some effort, booked a property in Cape Town, Houtbay actually. Via AirBnB it failed due to the absence of a response from the landlord, but via Booking.com it immediately went well. We have a very spacious house at the beginning of the route to Chapman’s Peak between February 12 and March 3. Farrah and her family come over February 14 but they have arranged their own stay. Tom and Tamara will come February 17 and stay until March 3 and stay with us. My mother-in-law is also going with us and I think so does her sister.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today is another soot hot day so I think we are fleeing to the coast again to cool off there.<\/span><\/p>\n

We didn’t flee today but stayed and how hot it was. My mother-in-law called it the warmest day she had ever experienced, but that could have something to do with the fact that she worked in the garden until 11 hours. It was really very warm between 13-16 hours.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lisa, in her wisdom, had decided to throw away a lot of my wonderfully seated t-shirts and only bring those shirts she liked. Unbelievable\u2026\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Tomorrow it will be 2 degrees colder.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was wonderfully cool again last night and so I slept fine. Lisa thinks she has to sleep in the house to ‘watch out for her mother’ and is therefore much less comfortable. We talked for a long time yesterday about what we are going to do in the coming days and decided to just stay with Lisa’s mother. So often we are not here and she loves having us here so why shouldn\u2019t we? My mother-in-law is 83 and is very independent and stubborn. She has great neighbors and a network of family and friends. In addition, she has started a project to place two outbuildings. That’s not going very well and they are full of flaws, but she does it independently. Now that I see it, I tend to take over things or ‘do it myself’ but the heat is holding me back but, because it is her project and she enjoys bringing it to a good end with a grumbling and scolding\u00a0 <\/span>I limit myself to advice.<\/span><\/p>\n

So today nice and cool day at 39 degrees; I read a little and answer calls from Dutch banks<\/span><\/p>\n
