Today is October 1; we will leave for Africa in just over a week. Funny enough, I get stress and I sleep very bad! And that for someone who has been preparing for this adventure quite properly…..<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It should be nothing more than\u00a0 following the action points on lists. Of course, there are unexpected things on the path, both in work and in private, but what keeps me busy is whether our (grown up) children will be OK. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Are they going to eat well? Do they keep the house clean? Does Tom put the car on the battery charger? Does the scooter still work? Do they switch the heater off? Will Tamara now finally follow her diet so that her diabetes comes under control?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But above all, I wonder (and Lisa I suspect too) whether they will cope! Do they like it without us in the house and do they still need us?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ai, it hurts.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Our eldest, Farrah, has been out of the house for almost 15 years and is doing fine, but what if the other two can do it now?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Today I have my last business appointment and then we visit a good friend in Gummersbach near Cologne. Tomorrow we will take the suitcases down and start packing. I will then book a taxi to Schiphol for next Tuesday.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
