Today is the 7th of April and we depart in about an hour or so from De Aar towards Kimberly. Last night Lisa had made a nice ‘ pot kos ‘ but a bit too much!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On Wednesday, something happened that I forgot to put on the blog. We drove the N9 towards Graaff Reinet and were just past Willowmore and stopped at a Padstal (road restaurant) called Oppivlak. We ate there delicious roosterkoek and drank fine coffee. I got into conversation with the owner who told us that she had been married to a Dutchman and that her children also had a Dutch passport. They visited their father regularly in Medemblik. He was a son of emigrants who were left for South Africa in 1953. Two of their five children had later settled in the Netherlands. Her ex-in laws came from a small town Koudekerk aan a\/d Rijn. For those who do not know this, I was born there and I know the name of these people, Van der Bijl, for sure. Small world huh?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
