Last night I slept badly despite the fact that my ankle heals well. This morning I can walk pretty good and the pain is almost gone so that’s good news. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Yesterday we also received also good news from Dysseldorp related to my mother-in-law and my nephew. A few weeks ago there was a break in at their house, but the thief did not count on the decisiveness of my mother-in-law who caught him before he could flee. Despite their solid age difference, the thief attacked her after which she defended herself, aided by my nephew (her grandson). As we hear more often in the news, the thief filed a complaint regarding mistreatment but yesterday it became clear that the judge did not accept that and that the case was shelved. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Tribute to the South African law!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lisa and I are almost 5 months away from the Netherlands now of which we spent just short of 4 months together. For me, these months have been extremely important, and that became only more clear in the last few weeks. With Tamara and Tom here with us, an excellent internet connection and in the vicinity of Lisa’s family we get a taste of how it will be again in the Netherlands. And that makes me sleep badly…… <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In fact, I have changed a lot in the months that we have travelled together through southern Africa, but the rest of the world does not know this and assumes that I will be arranging for the existing patterns and habits in which I solved all the problems for everyone. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Stress, a lot of food, overweight, unhealthy eating, little sports, alcohol, gout and bad sleeping are all traced back to my cravings and unstoppable tendency to solve other people’s problems and ignore mine though. Where Lisa and I were working for the first four months on our own affairs, we are now again fully involved in the daily life of our children, family in law issues and work and I immediately fall back into my highly personal trap resulting in physical and mental complaints as mentioned above. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Well, I am fed up with that!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The last six weeks in Africa I am going to prepare myself for a return in the Netherlands where my own mental and physical health will be paramount. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
