Ventillac – 30 March 2023

Peter 18

We drove almost 500 km in a southerly direction again, almost entirely on non-tollroads. The campsite is located in Ventillac, about 50 km north of Limoges. We drove through a typical French landscape with extensive fields and many roundabouts. Also the wellknown small French villages and of course manydeviations that, as usual, are not regulated at all. Fortunately, nowadays there is navigation and it is perfectly capable of defeating this French ghost nowadays. On the way we drove over the rivers Seine and the Loire which were both quite full of water. The farmlands also looked as if a lot of rain had fallen in recent weeks. Along the way we listened to different podcasts so we both got a lot smarter again.

I decided to fill up with some diesel along the highway on the way and that is the last time this year because those prices here make no sense. No wonder the French went on strike because €2.13 for one liter is more than 50 ct more expensive than in the Netherlands. At the supermarkets the price is a bit more normal I noticed ( 1.80).

The campsite has Dutch owners so thats easy to communicate. Tomorrow we drive further south and I hope that we can camp somewhere for a few days so that I can go for a walk

    Geniet ervan!
