It’s Liberation Day today. That’s what we called the day when we could leave for Cape Town together. I write this first piece on the plane 30 minutes from the airport. What an endless flight of 11 hours where this time we flew whole stretches over the sea so that we had wind from the stern. Did come up with a price because it was quite bumpy on the way. We flew Economy Comfort for the first time and that’s not wrong at all. Spacious chairs, lots of luggage and quite good food. It costs half of business class.
We sleep in a hotel at the airport tonight and take the taxi to Lisa’s sister tomorrow.
Tom took us to Schiphol and how he looks like his sister, at least in her earlier days. A morning mood that is almost impossible and on top of that he had also forgotten to get my Nikon camera back from a friend. Yes, Tom lends out my camera…..
So I take pictures with my phone for the time being and that’s fine
We have had our first African night and I slept deeply. Not so strange after that long journey. We were in an absolute record time through immigration and 3 of our 4 suitcases were already waiting for us. Number 4 was there within five minutes so we stood outside the airport before we knew where to look for the hotel shuttle. On the way I helped a few Dutch people who had forgotten to put their debit card on world coverage and who could therefore not withdraw money. Has happened to me and you get quite desperate.
This morning we are going to have a nice breakfast here, at least me, and then to Lisa’s sister. I’m also going to buy a ZA SIM card so that we can use the internet outside the hotel and family wifi.
Goedemorgen
Be good be kind be truthfull and (above all for this trip) feel free?.
Fijn dat vliegreis vlot en goed verliep, nu uitgerust de taxi in. Geniet.
