As a good couple, we went our separate ways today. Lisa went for a run and ran a good 10 km; I went cycling along the Loire and rode more than 48 km. My route went over the south bank of the river towards Sully–sur–Loire and ran on excellent cycle paths where I didn‘t actually meet anyone. Just lovely and relaxed cycling along a quietly flowing river with a great podcast on the headphones. Arriving at Sully–your–Loire, I looked at the castle from the outside (was being worked on I saw) and then crossed the bridge to the north bank. The road there was much less fun because there were cars driving but also the bike paths were bad to very bad. I drove about 2 km on a path that was made of large pieces of slate with concrete in between, which was so bumpy that I could have walked better because my speed did not exceed 5 km / h. It was an attack on the bike and on my buttocks. On the way, I passed a nuclear power plant and did some shopping. On arrival in Gien I only had to cross the bridge before I could have lunch (baguette with cheese). Tonight we eat what‘s left of yesterday. Tomorrow I‘m going to cycle the other way and Lisa will go for a run again. Friday we drive home
