Chalons en Champagne- 29 March 2023

After a long time, Lisa and I go on holiday again and we are really looking forward to that. Since the last post on this website (September 2021) a lot has happened, too much almost! For example, I sold my company on December 31, 2021 and that was an incredibly wise decision, especially with today‘s knowledge. It turned out that I had not looked after myself very well in recent years resulting in panic attacks (I thought I had a heart attack…) and serious gout in my knee and both feet. In short, I really had to change course and I turned that into a project. Kilos of fat have tob e lost and muscle tissue has to be added. Together with a personal trainer I work on the muscles; I lose weight all by myself and I am now more than 25 kg lighter of which 10 kg in the last year. In addition, I swim weekly and walk 3 times a week. So I’ve changed my life!

We bought a camper in April last year, a so–called semi–integral. Because I didn‘t feel like getting a new driver‘s license, we bought a not so big and heavy camper. However, with fixed beds and all the usual luxury (WC, fridge etc). So we are now the owners of 2 campers on 2 continents…

Last year we used it for a few weeks and finally got to Croatia and Greece. At the beginning of July 2022 we were back with the plan to go to Africa in October that year and visit Lisa‘s family there. Unfortunately, this could not take place because our daughter Tamara had problems with her housing. She had to come back to live with us and that meant a lot of issues. Lisa went to Cape Town alone in February 2023 while I was taking care of things for Tamara.

But now we can leave with our camper and we did so heading south this morning, not too early. I did some quick shopping at the Vrijbuiter in Gouda, but after that it was really a holiday. Via Breda, Antwerp, Brussels, Charleroi and Reims we are now in Chalons sur Saone on a great campsite in the middle of the city. On the app (Campingcontact) the last review was very bad but this is absolutely not justified because it is very good here. Tomorrow we will continue to the southwest and we will end up somewhere near Bordeaux. Then Basque Country and northern Spain and then we‘ll see again. Now sit outside and relaxMarc
